GARLIC (Allium sativum)
Garlic scientifically known as Allium sativum is a plant species belonging to Allium which is an onion genus. The garlic species is closely related to other plant species including leeks, shallots hives and onions. Garlic has been used since the ancient times for food flavoring and as a traditional medicine.

Rajasthan recorded the highest production of garlic across India in financial year 2018, amounting to over 582 thousand metric tons. Northern states Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Punjab followed.

In RAJASTHAN
The Hadauti region – comprising Kota, Bundi, Baran and Jhalawar districts -- accounts for more than 90% of garlic production in the state, according to the agriculture department data.
